Online Trying to Grow-up Some More
In the beginning there were newspapers. At some point there was a guy getting ready to start cranking on the printing press in his living room for the next day’s paper but for the fifth time in a row the ad from Ye Olde Quill Stoppe was late. Having enough of these delays, “the next time that ink sniffer is late, he’s going to owe me a month’s worth of his best black stuff.�

And there you have it, the first ad material deadline – and a late penalty to go with it

Wait for StarPM 2.0
I’ll start off with the good here – at least the Star is trying something new. Today they launched a downloadable afternoon paper – download StarPM at www.thestar.com. The only problem is that it’s not 1999 anymore and that’s about the level of sophistication of StarPM. And if this doesn’t show just how out-of date daily newspapers are, I don’t know what does

The One
Yeah – we’re referring to CBC’s controversial American reality show that aired for the first time last night. We could also be referring to the one and only week that ABC will keep it on the air in the US, or the one-point-eight rating it did in Toronto, or the one and last time George Strombo will be part of an American program. It also refers to the one and only post I’ll burn on the show

A local group called the Toronto Public Space Committee is organizing an event this weekend called “Art Attack� when they will reclaim the streets from advertisers. They get together at the cool Gladstone Hotel, do up some drawings on big paper then the party hits the streets as they go out with their art and tape it up over ads on transit shelters, garbage cans, streetads and whatever else they can reach. But why does plastering over ads with what one group considers art make the streetscape better?
